Emma Tourtelot

Emma Tourtelot is the co-author of eight nonfiction books about sex and relationships, as one half of the celebrated sex advice duo Em & Lo, and she has penned regular columns for New York, Glamour, and the Guardian, among others. She was also the co-creator of Nerve Personals, and the co-host of a ten-episode TV show, based on one of her books, that aired in the UK. Time magazine called her first book, The Big Bang, "This generation's smarter, funnier, and raunchier version of The Joy of Sex," and The Sun newspaper in England dubbed Em & Lo "New York's coolest sexperts."

After being a sex advice writer for almost two decades, Emma is now a middle school librarian in the Hudson Valley, which turns out to be a lot more controversial than her first career.

Before moving Upstate, she lived in the East Village, Williamsburg, and then Fort Greene. She grew up in England and moved to New Jersey as a teenager. She went to Princeton University for her undergraduate degree, and much later got a master's in information science from SUNY Albany.

No One You Know is Emma's first novel. She currently lives in Rhinecliff, NY, with her husband, two teenage children, two dogs, and no more chickens (RIP, Pio Pio).
